For lunch we went to a nearby corner cafe. Greta & Henry kept trying to get a taste of Rachel's blended mocha, so we got them one, sans espresso, to share.
After some play time back home, and a side adventure for me (had to track down my missing bank card, found it at a Japanese restaurant I took Greta to a week prior!), we decided to check out a "snowball" shop that was recommended to Rachel. We've had plenty of California snow cones, and Hawaiian shave ice, but this would be our first New Orleans snowball. The ice is shaved to a finer, fluffier consistency, much like a real snowball. It's a popular place on Plum St.
From 12 o'clock: Strawberry Lemonade (Henry), Peppermint (Greta), Strawberry Shortcake Cream (Zach), Orange Juice (Rachel). The peppermint was a dud. Kind of what you'd think, like mouthwash on ice. Mine was creamy and delicious, but gave me such a sugar rush that I felt like crap for the rest of the day. I think straight up juice on ice is the way to go.
We saw this cool dude on the way back.
